This Fourth of July marks 250 years since the founding of this country. That is two hundred fifty years of change, growth, and, yes, plenty of chaos along the way. Even with all of that, I am grateful to call this place home. Access to the mountains is a rare kind of freedom, and a good reminder of how this country makes freedom possible for everyone. I was back in LoHi yesterday, standing at 30th and Wyandot. I was visiting my condo that I rented in college and eventually bought from my landlord back in 2005. So much has changed in this neighborhood since then. I feel like I grew up alongside LoHi, and watching it transform over the years has been rewarding to witness firsthand. So many moments with friends and family. Nights out and special dinners. Everything downtown life has to offer is tied to this corner for me. Eventually life changed. I moved out to the suburbs to start a family and slow things down a little, trading nights on the town for a quieter pace. But standing on this corner again, all of it comes back and brings a smile to my face 😄
